The HP Agilent 8349A is a broadband, solid state Microwave Amplifier operating from 2 to 20 GHz. It provides >15 dB power gain. Maximum leveled output is +19 dBm. Many signal generators have reduced output levels at the upper end of their frequency range. The HP Agilent 8349A can be used to boost their outputs to levels sufficient for applications such as local oscillator use and antenna measurements. When used in scalar network systems, dynamic range can be increased 20 dB. The HP Agilent 8349A features a power level readout in conjuction with the internal leveling circuit so that and external power meter and directional coupler are not required to monitor the output.
